My husband and I cruised on the Dawn Princess at the end of March. This was both of our second cruises. I had previously cruised on Royal Caribbean and he on a Carnival Cruise line.

Our very first impressions were that the passengers on this ship was much older than on the others that we had been on. I think that part of the reason was that this was a 10 day cruise. We are a couple in our mid thirties and enjoy a little night life. The disco was completely empty at 10:00 the first couple of nights as well as the other bars. While it picked up a little bit during the rest of the cruise, I would say if you are looking to party, this is not the ship for you. We were even told by staff that this cruise had an unusual number of younger passengers.

A couple that we met on the ship was traveling with their 10 year old son. The children's program on the ship was very poor. The toddlers/children's/pre-teen/ and teen program center are all connected and very small. It seemed that they had very few activities planned for the 8-12 age group and expected them to color or watch cartoons. We never saw any activities on the top deck for the children. We heard other parents complaining also. We definitely would not plan another trip on this ship if we were going to bring our children.
