We were a little concerned but our cruise on NCL's Star was phenomenal. From beginning to end we were treated like family. Pre and post cruise e-mails were a nice touch and made us feel like more than a customer.
The quality of food (except for the desserts)were excellent, the service, top notch. The entertainment, especially the finale, terrific. The ship was clean and up to date. We experienced 7-12 foot seas one day and the ship was very steady with little lateral motion. There were some complaints of room noise, a lot of creaking, avoid rooms next to "crew storerooms". We heard them talking, opening and closing closets, pulling hoses, and dropping buckets at 6:30 am. We fortunately brought earplugs and that helped.
NCL went above and beyond, for example, welcoming passengers back from their port of call with a cool wash cloth and drink of water, a birthday/anniversary party, and many opportunities to meet the officers. Of our previous 6 cruises, the NCL staff were the easiest to communicate with.
Bermuda was a nice Port of call, Hamilton is similar to Nassau, British and pricey, Horseshoe beach was breathtaking and easy to get to. Public transportation is moderately priced and very easy. There are transportation people there to help you. There are activities for every age group.
