We've experienced the same cruise two years ago on-board NCL Gem and we've loved it.
Now on Jade the following items were different / have changed
SUMMARY
Good things ...
+ Well organized transfer, always punctual and reliable ( trouble-free transfer and hotel package)
+ International staff, well trained and professional
+ Cruise director (same as Gem in 2010), multi-lingual and always present.
+ Nice destinations easily to conquer by your own.
Bad things ...
- relative small SPA area especially the common men's/women's section
- as always, guests who make reservations of pool chairs (grrrrr....!)
- fellow cruisers do not follow the requested dress code (T shirts and / or flip-flops at dinner in the Pacific Grand Restaurant)
Things you may like ...
+ Cold towels and ice water upon re entering the ship (after hot excursions)
+ Personal welcome by cruise director or staff upon return.
+ Private Invitations (Meet and Greet for CC members / Latitude parties)
+ High end entertainment program at the Stardust theater (unique selling proposition)
+ Highly motivated staff and officers corresponding to end of staff contracts
+ Cruise director of passion and fun (Gary Gladings)
+ a "who is who list" of the main officers incl. 24/7 telephone numbers
+ fast cleaned tables at the Garden cafe
+ German tour guide (full of knowledge w/ Greek roots) if you have a German son (14yrs) in Olympia
Things you may miss ...
o sufficient illumination installed inside cabin
o free deck / pool chairs
o appropriate Shampoo and Conditioner in the bathroom
o magnifying mirrors in bathroom (makes shaving easier and enlarges the room)
o enough hot chairs in SPA area
o coffee machine in the cabin
o Captain's dinner w/ lobster
o Recommendations for dress codes (despite free (of) style cruising)
o five-course menus at the Grand Pacific Restaurant (MDR)
o Local "beers of the day"
o Receipts form the bar incl. name of waiter / staff
o Pencils in the library for Soduku and cross-wording professionals
o Smoking policy indicating clear statements were smoking is not accepted
o Daily announcements by the captain
Happy, happy,
washy, washy !
