We were overwhelmed by the magnificence of Alaska. It's going to take some time to look back and appreciate all we saw. We were so glad that we did the Denali part of the trip first as you have the on and off the bus many times and in and out of hotels 3 times, but it was handled very professionally and Regent did a great job. I know that some people are put off by having to ride in a "school bus" into Denali, but it has been re-fitted with comfortable seats and is fine for the trip and certainly not a reason not to go. We saw 9 Grizzlies, many Caribou, Moose, Eagles, and a herd of Dall Sheep trying to go to the Alaska. Unfortunately, we missed the Salmon running, but we saw so much else, it was a perfect time to go and we had sunshine every day.

I'll review the cities in the rest of the report, but would like to say that there are too many souvenir shops in all the cities. Really reminded me of St Thomas. I think thats why we liked Denali so much.

Overall, we had a More great time, met some wonderful people and would recommend this trip to anyone going to Alaska. The ship was small, but we really like that. The all inclusive was great, there was no signing slips for drinks or wine every other minute. This might add some to the initial price but in the end it was more than worth it and probably saved some. The "free" excursions were great, and if you wanted something else you could get it. The guides were very versed on all subjects. We will certainly go on Regent Cruises again. Less

The cabin was fine to a 7 -10 day trip, but would be a little small for a longer one. The closet space (walk-in) was great and having the safe up a eye level was a plus. Bathroom was spacious and had a large and long tub, with a separate shower. The amenities were very nice. Beds were comfortable and linen nice.

Port and Shore Excursions

Helicopter Tour
I went on the Tracy Arm Cruise and loved getting up closed with the glaciers, then in the afternoon I went on the Helicopter/ Dog Sledding - Loved the helicopter, but the snow on the glacier was getting soft and trying to walk in 18-20"s of snow was really hard. The dog sledding was fun. My husband went on the fly fishing trip and had a wonderful time- done very well and he caught a lot of the Dolly Varden trout.

We just walked around the town and shopped, which again very touristy and partook in spending money in them.

City Tour
Eagles every where - just like gulls - all over the place! The tour gave a good over view of the city and it's history. The Raptor Center was great- sat within 6 feet of than Eagle ( wounded) loved what they do with helping the wildlife.

White Pass Scenic Railway
We had seen this trip on a tv show and were really looking forward to it and really enjoyed it. City of Skagway very touristy. We did have lunch in the Red Onion (an old brothel) and lots of fun.
