We Arrived into Barcelona Airport at 11.00 We took a taxi straight to the port. The cost was 36 euros so we gave him 40
On arrival at the port, the porters took our bags straight away and directed us to security.
We were through security, the usual health form to complete and within 5 mins we were through embarkation and onto the ship! I have to say NCL have some of the best embarkations that I know of.
At 13.30 we were able to goto our Staterooms.
We were in Mini Suite 8172, and on arrival we though WOW, this is small.
I just think its the curved walls that we are just not used too, but it gives the impression of cramped space.
Anyway within 20 mins our cases had arrived. Now these cabins have Tons of rooms to store things, so no problems in finding place to put things.
The bathroom set up was no problem for us, just ensure you lock the cabin door and put a towel on the floor and all will be fine.
Now here is a warning, if your a light sleeper and want to sleep between 9pm and 1am you may want to reconsider not taking this room.
Even though Fat Cats/Slam Allen Band are 2 decks below, you can really hear the music in this room and the loud thudding of the base, makes it nearly impossible to sleep. We tried to ensure we was not back before 1am, but as this is a port intensive trip, you do start to get tired toward the end.
We unfortunately had music until 5am one night, as there was a crew party going on.
This was when I could not stand it any longer and we did complain! I have to say NCL did respond to this very well. They also acknowledge that there was a crew party going on, and it have been authorised. I guess everyone has to let their hair down some time. They apologised and did everything they could to rectify the situation, so well done NCL for that.
I'm just really surprised no one else has mentioned the noise issue in this room
The Entertainment on board was excellent.
The Blue Man Group and Cirque Dreams where both Stunning shows. We also loved Howl at the Moon, very talented singers and Musicians.
The Beatles Tribute band was excellent.
Fabba being the exception, what was all that about?? Was expecting a tribute band not some dancers just dancing to Abba music!
We also paid for the POSH Beach Club for the week, which I have to say was lovely quiet area with nice big comfy chairs and beds. If you dont intend to get off at all the ports its worth paying for access, if they have any left.
Food - On the whole we thought was of a good standard
Teppanyaki the food and show was excellent
Taste for Breakfast the eggs benedict were divine
Cagney's, while the steak was good, we felt we did not get our moneys worth. Seems to be all seafood starters which we do not do.
La Cucina - Although its only a $10 supplement, we were very disappointed as we thought you could just get as good pasta in the Garden Cafe.
Manhattan room , This was the worst service we had and the food was not much better. It had obviously been a very busy night and the staff just looked as though they could not wait ti get out of there!
O'Sheehans Very Nice Chicken Tenders & Breaded Mozzarella
We did easy walk off departure and I have to say it was easy.
Would we sail Epic again. YES if the price is right.
