After spending two days in Amsterdam at our leisure( found a great hotel via our travel agent), we showed up early Sunday AM at the dock and our luggage was immediately tagged and brought onto the ship without any delay. Returned to the ship late afternoon, luggage had been stowed in room which was spacious and neat. Loved the Koln cathedral and Roman museum tour, had lunch outdoors at Peters Brauhaus due to recommendation from Viking, excellent food, good prices. Toured the Schololaden museum later in the day, most of the chocolate that we purchased in the gift shop never made it home.
The food on board was excellent, especially loved the cites of Heidelberg and Strasbourg, ate lunch both days in local bisto's. The hightlight of the trip was the optional Colmar WWII tour, the guide was outstanding, do not miss this tour.
Everything was very well organized, the weather cooperated, and we will definitely book again with Viking, there are just so many good choices its difficult to make a destination decision
