Thoroughly enjoyed the Eclipse voyage. Was much better than last May.Huge food improvement,as a new menu was on trial. Staff were quite superb and the ship was spotless.Bad news was very expensive drinks prices..so we bought NONE!
U don't HAVE to consume alcohol to enjoy such a superb holiday! Tours are pricy but we enjoy the challenge/fun of doing our own rather than be amongst a herd of others!! ShuttleBus prices were also OTT..public transport/shanks pony much better. I enjoy a pre-brekkie swim,to get the blood going, but sadly the pools are smallish. Our Sunset balcony overlooked the stern. The cabin had a fab flatscreen TV, with Sky News,Sky Sports and BBC World news avail. Chocolate on pillow was nice touch..bathroom very roomy but hardly any drawer space, unless U discovered the 2overhead lockers!
Thoroughly enjoyed THE GRASS Lawn on Deck 15...especially the Croquet tourneys! Entertainment not up to P&O standard but nevertheless very adequate.
The Female Cruise Director from USA was fab as were the 5 Entertainment staff who held the TRIVIA(US for quiz!).
The daily ship news ship was stuffed with adverts but nice that BRITAIN TODAY newsleaf was avail daily. The Deck 14 buffet was so good. The "island"concept really works,so no trays necessary.Good Ice cream bar,free/avail all day.Smoked Salmon/prunes/figs/omelettes etc.Lunch had Indian,Mexican,Fish+Chips/fresh veg(eg Artichoke+Asparagus.).We didn't think the TUSCAN grill was worth $30..same last year but we chose seafood..steak choice prob better!
So we disembarked as 2 "Happy Campers"
