We had gone on the exact cruise in August 2011, but it was the same time as Hurricane Irene, so we lost a day of cruising, and the weather in Bermuda was still rainy and overcast most of the time.
Regardless of that, we had such a teriffic time we decided to do it all over again in non hurricane season.
We stayed at the BW near the Newark airport as they keep your car there, and shuttle you to the port and give you a taxi chit for the way back.
The Embarkation was a lot smoother than we had experienced the time before, and we were on the ship within a half hour of arrival. We were looking forward to seeing the upgrades the ship had gotten in January 2012, and as any proper do over would have it, we stayed in the same room.
Right away we noticed an improvement with the new carpets, new drapes and finally a flat screen TV !
Still had the plastic shower curtain however to my dismay. The other major change to the ship wasthe new cabins on deck 11, called aquaclass.
As always the service was impecable, and the food out of this world. We tried the new Q-Sine specialty restaurant and it was a lot of fun, however I chose ( by i-pad ) too much food...... needless to say I had a food hangover the next day.
We also went to the Normandie specialty restautant for two nights, there is not much more to say but you have to go and try this, it is comparible to the top French cuisine we have here in Montreal.
In Bermuda we did the famous homes boat tour excursion and that turned out to be very nice, the people who ran the tour were very nice and informative, oh the money that is on that island !
On the second day we did the opposite, we hired a taxi to take us around the other parts of the island where the locals live in the colorful houses, and the chickens running around loose :)
We ended that tour at the cliffs where the young and brave folks would jump into the ocean from heights I do not even want to guess... and then they would climb back out through caves that the British had used for defense back in the day.
Day 3 was spent in Hamilton visiting the stores and talking with the friendly locals who always have a smile for you.
Overall the cruise was very nice, but we have both decided that it is time to try something new, new cruise line, and a new destination.
We will keep you informed....happy cruising.
