We flew into to New York City to meet the Norwegian Gem. Check in was very efficient. We were on the ship within an hour. We had lunch and relaxed until our room was ready. The room was very nice. It was a mini-suite. It had a balcony, and included a queen sized bed, and shower over tub.
The food in the regular restaurants was good. We also dined in two of the specialty restaurants; Le Bistro, and Moderno. The food was excellent in these restaurants with Moderno being expecially good.
The ports included Nassau where took a snorkeling cruise and shopped, Stirrup Cay, more snorkeling, and Port Canaveral where we saw the Kennedy Space Center.
While on the ship we took the ships tour where we got to see the innerds of the ship including the galley, laundry, food storage, back stage in the theater, and the pilots area. The Captain actually took us inside the area so we could see the controls up close.
We enjoyed the cruise very much. By the way we are Platinum Latitudes (frequent cruiser) members with NCL. This is our 12th cruise on NCL.
