Norwegian Gem Cruise Review by twobacks: Enjoyable cruise

Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)
We flew into to New York City to meet the Norwegian Gem. Check in was very efficient. We were on the ship within an hour. We had lunch and relaxed until our room was ready. The room was very nice. It was a mini-suite. It had a balcony, and included a queen sized bed, and shower over tub.
The food in the regular restaurants was good. We also dined in two of the specialty restaurants; Le Bistro, and Moderno. The food was excellent in these restaurants with Moderno being expecially good.
The ports included Nassau where took a snorkeling cruise and shopped, Stirrup Cay, more snorkeling, and Port Canaveral where we saw the Kennedy Space Center.
While on the ship we took the ships tour where we got to see the innerds of the ship including the galley, laundry, food storage, back stage in the theater, and the pilots area. The Captain actually took us inside the area so we could see the controls up close.
We enjoyed the cruise very much. By the More way we are Platinum Latitudes (frequent cruiser) members with NCL. This is our 12th cruise on NCL. Less

Cabin review: MA11582 Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony
We stayed in a Mini-suite with balcony. The room was very spacious for a cruise ship. It had 285 square feet. The balcony had a nice view, and there were deck chairs to sit in. In the room, there was a small couch, TV, a queen sized bed, and a shower over tub. We slept very well even though on some nights there were rough seas.Read All Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony (MA) Reviews >>
