We set sail from Civitavecchia on 24th May in lovely warm weather. Check in to ship was very quick and our cases arrived very quickly. We travelled with another couple that we have holidayed with many times. This was our 4th cruise. The 1st was to Norway, 2nd to Alaska and 3rd a river cruise on Danube.
Our stateroom was very well equipped and was fairly spacious with a balcony which we used daily.
Pacific Princes is one of the smaller ships and has a maximum of 670 passengers. On our cruise it was not full and there were about 600 passengers. I have nothing but praise for how well we were looked after. Our cabin steward was very helpful and looked after us very well. Our waiters were excellent and entertained us each night with card tricks.
The food was excellent in the restaurant where we chose to have a later sitting for dinner at 8.15pm. We ate in the Steakhouse one evening for which we paid $20 dollars extra. The food was fabulous and we had a More
great evening. There was plenty of selection in the Panorama Buffet and the BBQ was always available. We had afternoon tea on one occasion which we enjoyed very much.
The singers and dancers on board were excellent and were the best of any cruise we have been on. Being a smaller ship we got to know them quite well and took a backstage tour to see the costumes and heard about they had all started in their careers. There was plenty of entertainment on board and lots of fun evenings if you wanted to get involved.
Our ports of call were: Portofino, Cannes, Sorrento, Sicily, Malta, Corfu, Kotor(Montenegro), Korcula (Croatia) and finished in Venice.
Unfortunately our trip from Sorrento over to Capri was spoilt by heavy rain and also had rain in Venice. There were some really interesting ports of call that we had never been to before.
I give this cruise top marks and really enjoyed it. Would love to sail with Princess again most probably on a smaller ship again as enjoyed the more intimate nature of the ship. Less
