Sail Date: May 2012
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Baltimore

May 27 -- June 3 -- Cape Canaveral, Nassau, & Freeport
This was my first cruise and a great one to be on. The drive up to Baltimore from Central Virginia (Chesterfield, VA 3 hours exactly) was pleasant and traffic was at a minimum. The kid's first site of the ship was WOW. My cruise aboard anything but a US Naval vessel looked to be truly nice. Check in was fairly quick and we walked right on board the ship. Everything inside the ship was beautiful from sitting at the bar to walking around the decks getting use to the ship.
Everyone was really nice to us and spoke to the Raven/Davis every place we went. The room was nice and the balcony was big and room to sit. The pull down bunk was something both kids enjoyed and they rotated each day sleeping on it. The room was kept clean during the cruise by Eka (great guy) an asset to Carnival
The food on the ship was really nice and the restaurant had great food (nice menu). We wished we had done an early dinner (6:00pm) More - hint nice if you want to see the shows a little later. Lido deck food was nice & quick really no matter what time we went.
Kid's Carnival was really helpful by way of entertaining the kids and giving us some time to ourselves. We should have used it more, but we felt a little quality. This will not be a problem next time. The staff was great even when we had to go off the ship for a wedding. The kids were safe during that time and we were reassured to not worry. They kept the kids entertained so much they were asking to go back each day.
The ports were nice, especially Cape Canaveral -- we took the airboat excursion -- great time had by all and a value compared to some of the others. The ship was really the vacation, so the ports are nice but our next cruise will be different ports.
We used the gym just about every day, my wife booked & used 3 Personal Trainer (Craig -- great PT) sessions that worked her out. She was a little sore the next morning, but she enjoyed them. She also enjoyed the spa on several occasions (knowledgeable staff). The hair dressers were able to work her in right before we left the ship for the wedding, great staff.
The ship was truly nice and we enjoyed every day of our 7 day cruise, we will be booking again and will use Baltimore again in the future.

Port 1 - Cape Canaveral - nice port, airboat ride worth the money. The tour guide was very knowledgable and the airboat captain was great at his position. The alligator we tasted was great and we got to pet a few different animals from a local care agency. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Pride Balcony Panorama 8140

Great balcony, a little noisy during the day as we were directly under Lido Deck but who cares during the day. Beds comfortable, nice size closets, bathroom nicely equiped. Staff was very friendly and curtious.

Port and Shore Excursions

It was raining when we pulled into Freeport, so we only ventured off the ship for a short period of time. We visited the local vendors and purchased a few things from them. They were all nice and the prices were really not that bad an got better as the time got closer for us to leave port. It would have been nice to have taken a taxi and visited the island, but maybe next time.

Nice but a crowded port. Lots of traffic and you have to get away from the port to really see anything. Atlantis Resort is beautiful and a nice day trip. The taxi driver knew just about everything about Nassau, so we got a history leason on the way over to Breez's. We traveled over to Breez's Resort for a wedding. It was really nice and will be super busy shortly with the building of another larger resort right beside them.
