Sail Date: Apr 2005

I travelled the CostaAtlantica on April 3- 10 with my grandmother and step mother. This is my 4th cruise, my first on any of the Costa ships, and I can say with confidence it was my absolute favourite I've been on this far. Anyone who rated this cruise as a bad cruise probably just had a not so great experience, because it truly was amazing!

Embarkation: The actual embarkation was the only part of the cruise that I did not think was organized well or done properly at all. We got to the port not too long before we were supposed to board the Atlantica. We got to a line-up of about 200 people and when we finally got to the front, we were advised that we needed to fill out a passenger declaration form. We were advised by our travel agent that this could be done online, and it took us forever to figure out where it was on the website and what had to be done. After doing all that, we were told at the front of the line that we had to leave the line and fill out another form, that the one online wasn't any good. Then why was is online? Hmm... :) After we finally made is onboard, there was a lunch buffet waiting for us which was nice, seeing as the airplane food was horrible.

Cabins: Our cabin number was 4201. The cabin itself was fairly large for the end of the scale rooms. It had a smaller washroom with a shower, a vanity set with a light up mirror, a double bed and one single bed. It also had two glass doors that opened up to a view of the outside, but unfortunately, the reason we paid so little for our cruise was because of the obstructed view caused by the life boat directly in front of our window. The good news was that if anything would have happened, we would not have been far from the life boat, and we actually didn't even have to leave our room the first day for the lifeboat drill, because it was directly below us and we saw the whole thing from our cabin.
