Having been with NCL twice before on Gem and Jade we were a bit nervous when we booked Epic as it is so big..but we shouldn't have worried! And it wasn't full which was an obvious advantage!
We embarked at Barcelona having flown with Jet2 from Manchester and embarkation was easy..much easier than from Venice.
I won't go into details about our cabin but will again say that you get what you pay for...and our cabin was excellent...even though I feel comfort has been sacrificed for controversial style!
The entertainment was great..The Blue Man Group is one of those show that you either like or dislike...there is no in between! The Cirque Dreams in the Speiegel Tent is a MUST...be as near to the middle as you can as that is where the action is...and Slam Alan in the Jazz and Blues Club is well worth a visit...unfortunately he will be performing on the new Breakaway ship when it is launched...a loss to Epic.
As for the restaurants..well...its a matter of choice but as I More
said earlier you get what you pay for and unlike many of the guests we did not feel the need to eat at every available opportunity and as much as a plate could hold. Some people feel that that the more they eat the better value they get...hmmm!
The staff were all helpful and work so hard....they deserve all the tips and service charge they get. They have to work for 9 months without a day off..none of us would like jobs like that. Their hours are long, they are away from home and they always have a smile on their faces and they deserve recognition.
One negative we found is that the lifts are very busy as there are so many decks (4-17) ..and another was that there is no walking track around the whole boat so that its not possible to get much exercise!..But that apart we left Epic with a warm heart and we have rebooked for next year!
A word of warning...we were not happy to disembark at 7am for a flight at 1pm and we will be looking for an alternative next time as 5 hours at the airport was a big negative. Less
