We sailed with the MS Rotterdam for a second time within a year. The ship still looks good and is constantly being painted when in port, so it keeps on looking good. In the cabin there were a few signs of wear and tear , lower part of the bathroom door and some scratches on the cabinets but nothing to take away the good feeling we get the moment when we board Holland America Line.
In general the staff is very friendly and helpfull and is still friendly on disembarkation day ! The try hard to add personal touches and they succeed ! One crew member rememberbed us from last year, nice . Only on the Lido deck we noticed some lack of service. Stuff was left on the tables for too long but after mentioning this to a manager form the hotel department this improved.
Food in the dining room and Pinacle Grill was very good , no complaints , no mistakes made while being served .
On the first two nights however , the open seating arrangements did not quite work out due to people remaining at the tables too long after being finished( blame the Dutch !) .This was eventually solved, hurray for the staff !
A nice touch after leaving the dining room : a crew member ( Gede) who hands out after dinner mints etc. and knows the next night what kind you like .
All in all, wonderful trip on a well run ship and will definitely sail onboard the Rotterdam agian.
