Ship Facts: Oriana Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Oriana Deck Plans
Wonderful Norweigan Fjords!
Well here goes for my first ever cruise review!

Arrived at Southampton about 12.15, parked with CPS, very efficient if not a little pricey. Joined large queue but were checked in very speedily! Boarded about 12.45 and began to explore the ship. Decided to go straight to Conservatory for some lunch. Expected it to be busy and it was! However managed to get table and enjoyed chatting to very nice couple from Wiltshire. We went to our cabin and unpacked ready for the sailaway.

At dinner we met our table mates and would like to thank Val & Gordon and Kath and Joan for making our evening meals very enjoyable. Food in the Peninsular restaurant was always good, very nicely presented and good choice. Only criticism would be our waiter was not very smiley and his friendliness seemed a bit forced.

Next morning we went for breakfast and bearing in mind it was a day at sea and we had put the clocks forward one hour the night before, we again expected it be busy but in actual fact the place was HEAVING! We walked round and round trying to find a table and basically the restaurant is just not big enough for busy sea days. My advice would be to go to the seated restaurant on sea days and avoid the bun fight!

That is my main criticism of the ship really and also that the selection at the buffet in the evening is not vast, in fact we only ate there once in the evening and were so not impressed we decided we wouldn't do it again.

But back to the actual cruise. We arrived in Norway on 20th May after a dreary day weather wise on the way up to beautiful sunshine! And that is how it stayed for the rest of the cruise, it got hotter and hotter as the cruise progressed. Absolutely loved the Fjords, beautiful scenery, like a different world. Didn't book any tours with P & O just did our own thing. In Flamm got up early and straight off the ship to the train station and got tickets easily. I agree with the previous reviewer though that you could be disappointed if you left it till later as it did get very busy.Did the same thing in Bergen at the funicular and ditto as above was heaving by the time we came down. Just walked round the town in Stavanger and beautfiul Olden but enjoed that.

Overall we really enjoyed our cruise, the ship was lovely, good selection of bars and entertainment. Headliners were excellent, very talented and professional. Nice to have the cinema but only managed to go once as so busy doing other things.

However the highlight of our cruise had to be that our friends surprised us and joined us onboard. Thanks Di and Gray for a thoroughly enjoyable week.
