Overall, my family & I had a great vacation, but I will never cruise aboard the Carnival Ecstasy again! This is an old small ship & although they've renovated the ship, there were a lot of negatives to the Ecstasy.

The GOOD: food was awesome. Every day, there were plenty of choices on the menu & the service was good, except for one evening at dinner when our waiter disappeared in the middle of serving us & we had to re-do our order with another waiter. The serenity deck is a nice escape from the loudness & crowds of the other decks. Our room was always kept clean with fresh towels.Embarkation & Debarkation went very smooth.

The BAD: where do I start??? Our room was super small & tight...it was 3 of us in a balcony stateroom at the very back of the boat. We could barely even walk around in the room. Put it this way, we had to climb over our bed to get to the balcony & the 3rd bed (for my daughter) pulled out of the wall directly above our bed...right over our heads. This set-up was so awkward & uncomfortable. This was the smallest room I've ever been in. We looked at a few other rooms on our floor & noticed that they were all small. Our room also smelled bad...like sewage & human waste. We complained & they simply sprayed air fresheners in our room. Being at the back of the boat, you feel everything & hear everything. I will never book a room at the back again. There is only one pool area, which is also small. The evening entertainment (shows/comedy) was awful except for the last night..the "Evening of Stars" show was great!
