My wife and I had a great vacation. We started in Hotel Cicerone (recommended by RCL) and had a nice little room within walking distance of the Vatican. Stayed 3 nights before the cruise began. We took tours of all the sites through the Green Line travel agency. It was a bit pricey but got us into the sites by-passing the lines. The hotel had arranged a driver from the airport to the hotel and then the hotel to the port. It was a bit pricey too. Friends we made on the ship (including ones who recommended CruiseCritic.Com) had good luck with the train system and found it inexpensive. Might try that next time.

Getting on the ship was fantastic. We got to the port early, about 11 am and they took us right on with pretty much no line. Got to go tour the ship and eat lunch in the Windjammer. We met a couple on the elevator ride up as soon as we got on the ship. We had lunch with them and had so much in common, we did lots together the whole cruise. I hope with get to cruise with them in the future; starting such a good friendship. We got to our room about 1:30 and found it great. It was a junior suite on the back of the ship with a balcony enabling us to see "both" sides of the ship.

We toured Messina Sicily, Ephesus turkey and Athens Greece. We were too tired to tour Crete and just slept in that day. We toured through the cruise line but our friends were able to meet people on CruiseCritic to arrange less expensive tours. They really enjoyed those too.

Great cabin. Enjoyed being in the back to be able to see both sides of the ship.
