This was our second cruise with Princess (first was Royal 1988) and third cruise overall (cruised Disney with 3 kids) so I don't have alot to compare with. That said, my wife and I enjoyed our recent cruise very much and rate our experience very highly. We flew on flights arranged by Princess and flights were convenient. We were able to select seating on all flights (Delta) but as the documents were sent to us only a few weeks in advance seating choices were limited. No matter, our seats were good.

We arrived in San Juan at 2 PM on Sunday (Left Syracuse at 7 AM). Worst part of the whole trip might have been the San Juan airport. A madhouse! Thousands of passengers (okay, I exaggerate) were getting luggage of a pretty small carousel. We booked Princess transportation to the ship which went okay...were at the dock at 3:15, on the ship by 3:30. I am not sure if it was the timing or the excellent embarkation process but there were no lines. As soon as we got on we explored. Very pleasant throughout. It is a very big ship but the only time you realize it is when you are walking down the long corridor to get to your cabin.

Our cabin on Aloha was very nice...not big but lots of storage, shower was adequate size with good pressure, balcony big enough for two chairs and a table. After exploring we went to the Horizon Buffet for a snack. My wife and I were very satisfied with the buffet...good variety and lots of it. We did eat two meals in the main dining rooms...both formal nights. On the second formal night (lobster and beef Wellington) we had a choice of waiting for a table for two or sitting with strangers which we did and ended up enjoying very much! Read more
