Having fought against cruising for many years, my wife convinced me that we needed to try one. We booked a 7 night cruise on the Adventure of the Seas with RCI and frankly after 7 days I just wanted to turn around and do it all over again.
The ship was immaculate and spotlessly clean, the cabin attendant Ezra was brilliant as was our waiter Karim and her assistant Gladys.
The food was outstanding with a superb choice at each course.
One small negative, the food in the Windjammer tended to be cool and could have benefitted by the addition of a microwave to heat up the lunches. Quality of food could not be faulted as was the service from all the waiters. Everyone seemed so pleased to help us and all had great smiles on their faces.
The shore excusrions were good although a 1.5 hour coach trip each way to both Rome and Florence were a bit on the lengthy side and a such did not allow enough free time in the cities. The Ajaccio tour we would not repeat as it can so easily be done on a solo basis as the ship docks in the heart of the city.
Company on the ship was tremendous and it was really nice to meet up at dinner and exchange tales of the day.
Overall a wonderful first cruise and we are about to book our next one once we agree on the destination.
