We took the Ecstasy 5-day cruise from Port Canaveral to Half Moon Cay, Nassau and Freeport. This was my second cruise on the Ecstasy, the first cruise being about 3 years ago when it was based out of Galveston. This was my 3rd Carnival cruise and I have cruised with 3 other lines as well. We had a really fun time on this cruise and it helped that we came with realistic expectations and a good attitude.

Embarkation/Debarkation: Both of these were quick and easy. We arrived at port around 11am and were on the ship within half an hour. We did the self-assist debarkation and were off the ship and ready for our shuttle to the airport within 30 minutes.

Dining: Since one person in our party (not me!) was a late riser, we ate breakfast in the Panorama Buffet. The lines for the hot food were often long, but the cold choices were good and readily available. We had no problem filling ourselves with croissants, fresh fruit, cheese and milk, which is more than we are used to eating anyway. The lunch buffet varied daily--American, Caribbean, French and Italian. We sampled the buffet, the pizza, the deli and the grill and all of the food was good although the lines were sometimes long for the pizza, deli and grill. We had Anytime Dining and always ate between 6 and 6:30 pm. There was no line for dinner at that time on the first and last nights, but there was a line on the other nights (taking about 10 - 15 minutes to reach the hostess.) Although there was a line, once we reached the hostess, we were seated right away. The hostess was happy to seat us where we wanted if it was available. The evening menu offered a page of offerings that were available every evening and a page of offerings that were special for that day. We ordered from both menus and were never disappointed in our food. We had several different waiters too and they never disappointed either.
