This was my second cruise to Alaska, and we chose the Century based on other reviews.
Our inside stateroom seemed larger than some of the previous ships I have been on. The rooms were well laid out and were in excellent condition with flat screen TV's, and modern looking rooms with two closets. Our room was always kept clean and well stocked by our room attendant during the cruise, however we never did seem them during the week we were on board.
Being a smaller ship to many of the newer choices available today, the Century did not disappoint, being equipped with all the amenities you would expect. Everything was kept very clean, and in good repair.
The dining room service was outstanding, and with the exception of one night, the food was outstanding. (I guess everyone has their off nights) The buffet was OK, with some selections being much better than others. The variety was excellent, and they try to cater to everyone's tastes, with sections including, American, British, European, and Asian fair. In the mornings there are made to order egg stations, and in the afternoons a made to order pasta bar. There was also a late night pizza counter, and an ice cream bar during the day. The buffet service was hit and miss. Some of the staff were not overly friendly or attentive, and didn't seem to have a good grasp of the English language.
Also worth mentioning is the Spa Cafe, adjacent to the fitness center, while small, offered some excellent healthy alternatives, and some very unique and delicious dishes. (The melon ginger cold soup was fantastic)
My bartender was always there when I wanted a drink and remembered my name throughout the cruise. The entertainment was decent with the evening shows, featuring a comedian, and a magician one night. One show not to miss, is the crew talent show, one of the best shows on this cruise. There was a young lady on crew who sang and played piano, she was fantastic. Other entertainers such as Aquadio, their on ship acapella group, and other entertainers were also great.
The Celebrity Life activities were alot of fun, and I especially enjoyed the watercolor painting classes. My only complaint in this area was that some of these activities were planned too close to the disembarkation time for Icy Straight, which became confusing when an announcement went over the PA system at 2:30 to prepare for tendering, when it wasn't actually starting until 3:30.
Overall a great ship, and had a great time on this cruise.
