This was our 4th Carnival cruise and we were as happy with the Conquest as we have been with the Freedom, Glory and Victory.
Sailing out of New Orleans was very cool. Our previous Carnival cruises were all out of Florida.
The ship was in great shape, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the ports were enjoyable. Absolutely NO complaints. We did the "Chef's Table" this trip and really enjoyed the experience (well worth the $$$$).
If anything, we found the clientele on this trip friendlier that on any of our past trips. Our 17 year old really enjoyed the O2 as he always does. There were very few kids on-board this time, though.
The weather was perfect; the seas totally calm. We loved our extended aft balcony which we got spoiled with on our last trip and aren't sure we can ever go back to a regular cabin.
Our son went scuba diving in Key West and REALLY loved Captain's Corners dive operator. My husband and I did our own walking tour More
of the area. We took the ship's tour in Freeport (can't remember the name but it was to explore several sites and then snorkel at a local beach). The guide was amazing and the trip very informative (it was too rough to snorkel). We went to Atlantis on our own in Nassau and got a day pass to do all of the water-slides. Had a blast and, although expensive, it was a LOT cheaper than going for a family vacation at Atlantis!
We stayed at the Ormond Plantation in New Orleans for the first night before our cruise - totally AMAZING experience. Can't recommend this enough; so beautiful. Stayed at the Drury Inn in New Orleans for 2 nights after our cruise - great hotel, great location!
We will be booking Carnival again! Our son has been on many vacations with us and still says Carnival O2 is the absolute best. Less
