We had an all over terrific time onboard the Star. Cabin service is not something we're used to and we constantly seemed to interupt our steward or "be in his way" when we went in and out of the cabin constantly throughout the day. We had fabulous accommodations and the food at Horizon lived up to our memories of our transAtlantic voyage. We're not big on the formal dining aspect. We had an incredible meal at the Crown. We had lovely service in the Lotus Spa for some real "girl time" and we had the outdoor hottub on the Neptune deck to ourselves most of the time.
Having been to Alaska a few times before we thought we should really try the cruise route. Who better to do so with than Princess? According to us and the folks we talked with on board, no one does it better. We really enjoy the ambience and appreciate the slightly more mature passenger set.
One thing, I felt that the designated smoking area on the Neptune deck was really neglected to the point of almost always being dirty???
Wistful about balcony smoking. Enough!.
This is a SHORT cruise. Port times of 6hrs or less.
Seattle dock 3 miles out of downtown was disappointing.
Yes, it was cold and rainy but it wouldn"t be May in Alaska if it wasn't!
I say go now and avoid the crowds not to mention, people are still happy to see tourists.
