Our experience on the Marina

Sail Date: May 2012
Destination: Other
Embarkation: Other

What a brilliant experience from start to finish.
Boarding process was 10/10
Welcoming from the team on board 10/10
Room and food 10/10
We could not fault this cruise liner at all.

As soon as you walked on board there was always a cheerful hello from any of the staff that you would walk past. Absolutely no exception at all. Always a happy smiling face. This continued across the whole cruise. Room was outstanding although we expected it as we had paid enough for it. House keeping staff kept it immaculate always. We also had a butler who was always happy to ensure we were always happy and no request was a concern at all.
There were 4 specialty restaurants that we were able to book twice each over the time on the cruise. They were Chinese, French, Italian and the Polo grill {Steaks seafood etc} Then there were 2 other restaurants that you could access for meals. Didnt matter which restaurant you ate at, the food was always exceptional.
We spent alot of More time off the boat doing tours across the day for either 4-10hrs. Had something booked pretty much all the time apart from the whole day at sea. Tours were organised very well with barely any fuss at all.Always water given out at the beginning of the day.
Towards the end of the tours we returned to the ship with a welcoming commitee from a lot of the ships staff in two lines with them clapping and cheering on our return. Nice touch we thought.Always staff to greet us with refresher towells.
We didnt do too much while on board apart from drink alcohol and eat the lovely food, so cant really comment about the on board entertainment. We didnt have too many late nites as we needed to be up early for the excursions. Drinks packages were the way to go. $49.00 for pretty much whatever you wanted to drink. Which included a good selection of beers, spirits and cocktails. Will not dissapoint thats for sure. Had exceptional bar staff to look after us while having a few drinks. Drinks made to order pretty much the way you would like.
If you are looking for a Cruise liner that caters for the mature folk like ourselves then this is it.
We cannot recommend them highly enough.
The worst part of the cruise was getting off the boat for the last time.
Thankyou Oceana, we are looking forward to the next cruise with the Oceana family. Less

Cabin review: OC12011 Oceania Suite

The Oceana suite is by far the most spacious we have ever been in. You do pay the premium for it however. Something we wouldnt do all the time but a treat now and again. There was a soundroom with plenty of music and movies to choose from. Would have liked some more modern music to choose from as alot of it was dated. Apart from that we couldnt fault. Decor was modern and lovely.
