Ship Facts: Silver Cloud Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Silver Cloud Deck Plans
Disappointed with the management of SilverCloud
This is our first time on SilverSea which was highly recommended. We have experiences on other cruises and our favorite is still Crystal Cruise. Thus our expectation on SilverSea was high. We embark on SilverCloud from Port of Monte Carlo to Rome from April 17 to 24, 2012!

We find the checked in was relaxing, smooth and welcoming but only to realized that there was no photographer to take a photo when you board the cruise. This is indeed unusual and because we have four other friends being their FIRST TIME on a cruise, we told them in advance to dress up so that they can have a photo when they board but there was nothing.

During the cruising we observed there was no official photographer available for the formal night and when we checked with their guest relations officer only to find out that they had bad experiences when their 'in-house doctor' was having an affair on board and his photos were taken...what an answer ... shock to hear this that they band having a photographer.

However the main disappointment on this cruise that we didn't expect was an accident that happened on the gangway on our way out for a day when the ship dock. This accident happened in Livorno, Florence and it happened to my husband. We were checking out and at the gangway top - exit was so low and my husband hit his head. It was so fast and he had to be sent to the local hospital ER. Luckily the doctor on board was in and came to his aid but unfortunately the management of the cruise were not around and it took a long time to locate them. We had to ask for a representative from the cruise who can speak English and Italian as a translator to come with us....this took for hours for the management to approve and they said that the doctor-in-house cannot leave the ship! To cut the story short, the doctor in house saw the seriousness of my husband in pain and he stayed with us. Thank GOD my husband recover and there was no sign of seriousness after a CT scan and MRI and it took us one day...but the cruise management on the other hand has been in touch with the doctor who was with us and asking him to return to the ship. They later send a replacement a international guest relation officer who was very sympathetic and remind us that the ship will leave at 6.00 pm and if we are not back on the ship...they will not wait.

We did thank God arrive safe on the ship before it sail. After that nothing happen and we heard no news or apology from the management. They were quiet.

This is our first time cursing with SilverCloud...in trouble they stay away!!!! No compensation whatsoever!!!

Disappointed...
