We just got back from a 7 night cruise with Rhapsody of the Seas. This was our first cruise we are in our 30's and had no idea what to expect. I would highly recommend this cruise line and ship, even though it is an older ship than some, it has been very well maintained, every time you turn around someone was cleaning or polishing or painting something and it was spotless from what I could see. Even our windows in our room were cleaned daily, I checked this by putting a thumb print on the edge...I'll try and organize this as best I can.

SHIP: Very nice, smaller than some of the others but you don't notice this until you are in port along side one of the other RC ships or the larger carnival. I will say I thought our ship looked much nicer than the Carnival ships at least from the outside. Our room was a outside cabin with window, but I guess all outsides have that. The room was just large enough for the two twin beds to go together, which is done for you before you arrive. With enough room to walk around each side, we had a chair in our room, as we had a door to the adjoining room, if you do not have this door you get a small love seat. A phone, and TV as well as a desk and mirror with lighting is also provided, along with a safe and ample closet and storage space. The bathroom served it's purpose as well. Of all the decks I would say my favorite outside deck was deck 5, this deck runs the length of the ship, and around the stern then back to the other side. It is a great place to read a book or to just sit and enjoy the peace of the ocean. Decks 9 & 10 is where the action is though. We spent a couple of nights in the Viking lounge on deck 11 which for the most part is deck 11. This is a dimly light night club area that is great for looking out over the ship, and for those suffering from too much fun the night before they have a quiet hour in the morning..haha.

Dining:. I can't say enough about the dinning room experience, we ate most of our lunches and breakfast in the Windjammer which is your casual dinning area, where it is served buffet style. I wasn't too sure I wanted to have my dinners "formalized" every night but am glad I went in with my wife's wishes. If you don't eat in the main dinning area at least once you are missing out. Ah the luxury of having 3 servers waiting on you hand and foot. We were very fortunate in that Lambert from St. Vincent was our waiter. He and his assistant took very good care of us as well did Christen our Head Waiter who was from Romania I believe. Every night we would sit, and have tea or water you can have wine if you choose as well (extra cost) we are not wine drinkers so that wasn't an issue with us. Your meal consists of an appetizer, main meal, and dessert and a salad if you wish. The food was awesome, no complaints, if you asked from medium rare, you got it that way the first time, or well done etc. We were very sad to leave our waiters on Saturday evening, as you get to know them and feel as they are part of your family. We had every dinner in the main dinning room and breakfast one morning.
