Simply Fabulous

Sail Date: May 2012
Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean
Embarkation: Venice

Although we were first time cruise people we have travelled extensively.
I had read some adverse reviews about the Seabourn Spirit and was a bit apprehensive about our trip before boarding. However, this was quickly resolved as soon as we neared the ship and the Seabourn service and courtesy came into play.
We sailed from Venice and our water taxi was met by waiting staff to help with luggage, this was although we had not notified that we were arriving. The arrival procedures were extremely easy and handled with great efficiency.
Our first impressions of the ship were very favourable, our cabin was spacious and very clean, the staff looking after our cabin for the voyage were wonderful and welcoming and made sure that we had all we wanted. The champagne was waiting for us upon entering our cabin.
We were surprised at the first dinner that night, the food was a truly fine dining experience and continued that way for the entire trip. The range of food was amazing and More was worthy of any of the best restaurants we have been to.
The entire staff throughout the ship were very friendly and referred to us by name from the first day, amazing. The training for this crew must be commended, each member of staff gave the impression that they just wanted us to enjoy our holiday and they were there to make sure that we had the best experience possible.
The ship was very comfortable and all areas very accessible. We had only 192 passengers on board and we enjoyed chatting to everyone we saw, being a smaller number we formed nice friendships and enjoyed the company of some of the other passengers.
The few excursions we were on were run very well and the guides were very knowledgeable and well chosen.
The ports we visited were Corfu, Dubrovnic, Split, Kotor Rovijni and Triluke Bay, these were delightful and interesting. We were also at Brindisi for a day, this was not so interesting but the ship was enjoyable enough so we opted to return to the ship and just enjoy.
Disembarkation was easy and without any problems. We had a leisurely breakfast, collected our passports and our bags were waiting for us upon leaving the ship.
We could witness the cleaning process of the boat as we left and we were amazed by the extent of the cleaning, absolutely every surface was cleaned and all items in our suite replaced, such as bedspreads and even the cushions on the beds and lounges.
One of the best aspects of this trip was that it was all inclusive in the price, including gratuities. The staff were so attentive even though they were was not addition tipping at the end of the cruise. There were no nasty extra bills waiting for us at the end.
We will definitely travel with Seabourn again. Less

Cabin review: Seabourn Spirit Balcony Suite Deck Five

Our cabin was a verandah suite, overall it was very roomy and well furnished. Plenty of cupboard space and drawers, a safe provided and plenty of hangers for the clothes. The rooms were very quiet, no noises at all from the hallways or surrounds. We had wonderful views from our open doors throught the trip.
