My wife and I booked the Celebration Cruise to the Bahamas with realistic expectations. We got a great deal on the cruise, and read enough to know it would not be equivalent to the Royal Caribbean cruises we had taken previously. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the cruise and had a great time.
The ship is older than those we had been on, but very clean and well laid out. We got an offer to upgrade to a suite a few days ahead of departure for not much money and we did so. The room was very large and comfortable. The cabin steward was outstanding and very pleasant and service oriented.
The food was good, not great, and the service at the restaurants and throughout the ship was consistently pleasant and responsive. The pool deck was our favorite part of the ship and you could either be in a big party if you wanted to or retreat to a quieter area. Deck chairs were plentiful.
We took the day trip to the Lucaya resort which was the highlight of the trip. The resort pool and beach were gorgeous. We opted not to have lunch at the resort, but instead walked over to the Marketplace across the street and had lunch by the marina.
The shows on the ship were actually very good. I usually do not like the talent on cruise ships or all-inclusives, but these were entertaining.
It's a very short cruise, and I certainly would not incur significant travel costs to get to Palm Beach to take the trip, but we added this onto a four day Palm Beach vacation. It was a great add on, and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
