Ship Facts: Celebrity Eclipse Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Eclipse Deck Plans
Wonderful Fiords
We boarded the Eclipse in Southampton on May 4 2012 very smooth check in and as we had flown in from Northern Ireland went over to the big shopping centre before boarding

We have been on the Eclipse previously and know the layout of the ship

We travelled Concierge Class room 1231 on deck 10 lovely big balcony and the usual comfortable stateroom

The weather was ok for the time of year and this cruise had 3 sea days and there was a great variety of things to do

The entertainment was of the usual high standard with a wonderful concert pianist on board which was a change and well received by all

The meals were perhaps not as good as on previous cruises with celebrity as the menu seemed rather less varied than before

We had requested a table for 8 and got a table for 4 we asked to move and got a table for 8 with couples who wanted 1st sitting so ended up with just 2 ! Joseph the maitre d was extremely helpful and found us a table with 6 other lovely people in a great position

Our first port was Bergen and we took the funicular to the mountain well worth the trip we also went to the fort and walked around the fish market and old wooden s buildings by the waterfront

The next port was Flam and we took a shore excursion on the Flam railway This is a trip not to be missed as it is stunning

Geirangerfjord is the most beautiful place and we walked up the hill to the museum and the old wooded church for wonderful views

We were lucky with the weather as we were the first ship in this season and the snows have not melted yet so we did not see the waterfalls in full flow

Some roads higher up were still closed

We have been to Oslo before so went to the City hall to see the murals

We had thick fog along the coast but were lucky with the weather in the ports

It was a very good experience and we would recommend this type of cruise but perhaps a little later in the season as it was cold !
