Ship Facts: Ocean Countess Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Ocean Countess Deck Plans
Ocean Countess....April 2012...Norwegian Fjords
We picked up our cruise at Hull (could not find this port on the list available?).

There were 5 of us, 1 not so senior citizen and 4 more senior citizens, 2 of which walked with a stick.

The Hull port was excellent, with good secure parking and bus transport to the terminal. All luggage was taken care of (we only saw it again when on board outside our cabin). The ship entry was gained by a scaffold supported gang plank, quite steep and not mentioned on the ship documentation. No other means was offered and this was a problem for our 2 less mobile travellers.

We had been upgraded..and moved from deck 4 to deck 3 with windows (this was a mistake).Yes we had two portholes, however as we had thought but had been convinced otherwise by the rep of C&M, the cabin was just adequate/old/shabby in places but kept as clean as possible, it was however VERY noisy. The crews cabins were next in line on the corridor. DONT GO ON DECK 3.

The Food was very good in both the main restaurant and the boat house area, fresh/hot/well presented and served well. The buffet type Breakfast was very much a cattle market affair, with poor food table layouts and consequential accident/congestion and being unable to find items in good time. The bar prices were on par with home, and always served well by the crew team.

The ship facilities were VERY tired, the ship should be decommissioned asap as it is certainly not a cruise ship anymore. (unsure of any suited classification...2 star?). The crew were a very friendly and willing, it was only there attitude which made this ship work.

The cruise itinerary was very good, and the Fjords well worth visit and we spent as much time as possible viewing them. Flam was the most eye pleasing, Bergen being the best Town/City visit.

Would we go again...not on this ship, at any cost. To the Fjords maybe.
