Love Bermuda. This was the second time we cruised there. The first was with Norwegian. You must rent scooters! Be careful - if you are really nervous about it, it will probably not be a great experience.

I have to say my husband is a "foodie". He could not say the food was bad - it wasn't - but we could not help but compare the ship to Disney and Norwegian. The Explorer did not have enough "spots" that food was available. The other ships we have been on had food counters right outside on the pool deck - plus alot of variety. Very convenient to grab something without having to go inside. The only other spot on the Explorer to get food quick, other than the buffet, was a very small cafe in the promenade area. This blew my mind how small it was for the amount of people on this ship! They served pizza and small sandwiches, and a few cake like desserts. The same line that gets formed for this area is the same line for Starbucks coffee (not free) and Ben n Jerrys icecream (not free). Might I add that there is only one person working the coffee and the icecream! Horrible set up.

Although the ship was very pretty - I cannot help but be annoyed by this promenade area. They love: to set large tables of merchandise along the center for sale, having live bands playing, and plan large crazy party events. This adds up to many people stopping to look, buy, listen, dance, etc. therefore blocking any possible walkway so you can get to your destination! It is VERY annoying! Try going to any bar or shop when one of their parties are going on is almost impossible. Really not fair to a passenger that really did not want to experience that particular event - or maybe really needs to get to the store for a necessity item. I do want to add that I did hear that some of these events are supposed to be outside - but when the weather is not great, this is where they have them. Not a great solution - sorry. Please take note that if you eat in Portofino - allow 2-3 hours. We had a party of eight and a few of us ordered more than one appetizer. They will not serve them at the same time. This stretches out the meal. Plus if you order an extra entree - they will charge you an additional $10. They also did not have iced tea available. Soda or water only.
