I took a cruise on NCL GEM in March with my elderly parents and my daughter (home from Spring Break) going to Port Canaveral, Great Stirrup Cay, and to Nassau. My dad is in a wheelchair and I chose this room because it was handicapped accessible.

GEM was easy to maneuver around for the handicapped. We made a habit of walking the 7th deck whenever we can. We ate at the Grand Pacific, which was very easy to get to. While my family took the elevator to the 6th deck using the one dedicated elevator stopping there, I took the stairs to talk to the hostess. Some of our meals were taken at the Garden Cafe. Yes, it was always crowded there, but we never had to wait too long for a table. We liked the food on the NCL GEM no matter where we ate.

Aft-Facing Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin M1

Great room for the handicapped people - large room, large bathroom, and large balcony. Noisy in the morning because it was right underneath the Outdoor Cafe where the crew cleaned every morning. No problem after that. Beautiful view, with very little wind.
