The good: Embarkation was quick. Luggage was delivered promplty. Summit has been redecorated and is beautiful. Comfortable furniture. Lots of places to sit. WE had 2 concierge connecting cabins midship deck 8. Great location, good beds, nice sofa, and lots of good usable storage space. Deck had 2 very nice chairs that reclined and a small table. All public venues were nicely updated. The food in most places was excellent. I especially enjoyed the specilaty restaurants. Normandie was excellent fine dining, Qsine had great food and spectacular service, and the Bistro on 5 was a very nice quiet option anytime. Buffet had a nice variety of items. Excellent caesar salad even though I never managed to get the requested anchovies. Pool deck hot dogs/hamburgers were very good. Cafe Baccio had excellent coffee. MDR was also very good. We had great waiters.THe elite lounge was nice when it was open....closed on several evenings for other events. Guitar player was superb. Loved the pool areas inside and out. Tpool was great. Sue Denning, the cruise director, was a cheerful person. The fun factory was really excellent. My grandson thoroughly enjoyed it. Excellent laundry service. Loved using the elite coupons. Ports were good. Weather was very good. Public restrooms were clean....I visited them too often.

The bad: Our cabin attendant was awful. He smiled all the time...and did little else. Our cabin rarely was made up by noon. Even though I requested extra towels, better pillows, more soap, etc., he never brought it. The pillows were like rocks. Our room was vacuumed only when I complained. It took many requests and a visit to concierge/guest relations to get the concierge perks. Our toilet didn't work for 3 days. It took multiple calls and visits to guest services to get the problem fixed. There's nothing like putting on your clothes in the middle of the night to go find a working toilet. Yuck!!!! TV also didn't work. The main evening shows were poor. Asked to speak to the hotel director. He was unavailable. The grand buffet on the last day was a mess. We went at noon for lunch. It had been so picked over that it looked bad. Also the tables hadn't been picked up. Dirty plates and garbage were on most tables. We left and went to the buffet. We would have enjoyed having the MDR regular service open more for lunch. Although the buffet is good, MDR is better. The buffet coffee was horrible.....undrinkable. Drank the instant....or went to Cafe Baccio to get some good stuff. Formal night isn't very formal. I saw men without jackets. I saw only a few tuxedos. Most men didn't even wear a tie. Disembarkation was a mess. We had to get out of the cabin at 7 am and weren't allowed into the assigned lounge until 8 am. Long lines and over crowded elevators made the disembarkation poor. We miss the cinema...and wish that there was someplace to watch free movies. We also miss the evening buffets and late bites. Late at night, there is pizza, gelato for a fee, small pastry at Cafe Baccio, or room service.

Traveling as a family group was lots of fun. In spite of the things that didn't work, we still enjoyed being together. If my toilet worked and the cabin attendant did his job, I would have enjoyed this cruise.
