The Oasis and RCCL were a big disipointment

Sail Date: September 2011
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

My wife and I booked a loft suite and were prepared to enjoy a wonder cruise.
Time spent in our suite was wonderful but that's were it ended.
Anyone that books the top suites knows you do so because you expect to be given royal treatment. This is not the case aboard the Oasis of the Seas. The concierge restaurant was a total joke! No view and crappy little tables gave it more of a dark, nightclub atmosphere than the upscale suite owners restaurant we expected! If the Haven restaurant aboard the NCL EPIC is given a 10 (as we would award it), the Concierge Restaurant on the Oasis should be given a 2!
It was truly insulting.
Concierge service was so bad I avoided using it after the rude lack of satisfaction I received after merely requesting an internet connection plan (which he screwed up, TWICE).
He was some Latin dude that was more interested in being macho than anything else - A real jerk!
Unlike NCL where you get both, there was NO butler service.
RCCL More sets up everything to extract the maximum number of dollars possible.
If you are on a budget (we were not), STAY AWAY FROM THE OASIS!
Most restaurants are specialty (pay as you go).
Food was decent but whoever laid out the Oasis must not like looking at the ocean - Views were mostly like dining on land although the atmosphere was usually impressive.
We never ate in the main (paid for) dining areas which appeared too over-crowded for our tastes.
Entertainment was pathetic for a ship this size!
The entertainment aboard NCL's EPIC (a smaller ship), is 100 times better!
Entertainment on the Oasis was pathetic...

When we returned home, I tried to get a response from RCCL on several occasions but they ignored us completely!
They initially sent out an invitation for our review, which, they never replied to.
Mind you, this was after forking out $6319.68 for our 7 day cruise (plus air fair from San Francisco.

Our overall impression of the Oasis of the Seas is not good!
Not only will we never sail aboard the Oasis of the Seas again, we will never again sail on any RCCL ship. Less

Cabin review: Oasis of the Seas 1714

#1714 Crown Loft Suite was fabulous! Having 2 story tall windows to look out was wonderful! The large bathrooms were luxurious and beautiful. We hope other cruise lines (hint NCL) adopt the loft suite concept 'cause we will never go back to RCCL!
