Just back from 8 night San Juan to St Martin to St Thomas to Tortola to Bermuda Repo to Bayonne! Started in San Juan, flew in Saturday morning day of cruise, from air port to ship under one hour.
Easy on board experience, bought coke and water in the port, more than enough for our sailing. Luggage was delivered within the 2 hours as promised. Met wonderful group of people from Cruise Critic(who also introduced us to loseit.com), so we felt like we knew these people from another trip. We had a great time with them!! In St Martin went to Orange Fever, shared a cab with a few other people, had a great time. St Thomas we again shared a cab with the same people( it just worked out that way) and went to a great little place we have gone to before, just as lovely as ever! Tortola we went to Jost von dyke, again the same people we traveled with on the other other islands plus many more, totally worth the trip! Bermuda, scooted about the island for 2 glorious days!
itinerary is great! As for the ship, the cruise director lacked luster, the entertainers were very good, the shopping concourse was blah...food was ok, nothing really stands out. The servers were mostly good, some needed more training, the wine sommelier was very entertaining.
The room was great the balcony was amazing! No need to eat with everyone else in the morning, we had our own "private Idaho", so room service worked very well for us. By the way, we always get an Aft cabin, great viewing!
We prefer Select dining, just agreed to meet at a certain time outside the Cosmopolitan and waited 10 minutes for all to show up, if some one didn't, no hurt feelings.
Disembarkation was pretty smooth, and thank you to "Uncle Kevin", he was able to round up our luggage so when we rolled off the bus we were ready to roll. Less
Celebrity Summit Cruises to the Southern Caribbean
Went on a ship excursion to Jost Von Dyke, great place, have your self a pain killer..or two... A nice little gift shop, that opens on "island time". The excursion was about a 40 minute boat ride, the guide tells you a little history about the islands surrounding the area. They serve you lunch and a beverage, your choice with or with out alcohol. The water of course is wonderful and the photo ops are breathtaking!
