Viking Spirit Cruise Review by djm20: Paris for Christmas!
Paris for Christmas!
This was a marvelous introduction to river cruising. Prior to this trip, we had taken several land/bus cruises and one experience was better than the other. Italy, Ireland, England and Sicily. But returning from Sicily in May, 2011, what comes in an email but a terrific offer for a Christmas tour - on a river? We could not resist.
The accommodation, the food, the entertainment, the hospitality, the crew and the ports we visited could not have been better. We lucked out with the weather as Winter is always iffy but it only rained one day and not for very long.
Oh the sites we saw! Normandy, several medieval villages alongside the Seine and Versailles! How does one explain Versailles to anyone who has not seen it? Breathtaking.
And Normandy were all those brave soldiers landed and many died to liberate France. What a moving location to visit.
And Paris! What a city. Even after the marvels of Rome, London, Dublin and Capri, nothing prepares you More for Paris. A romantic wonder by day or night. From the Eiffel Tower to the heights of Monmarte, Paris has to be seen to be believed and appreciated.
Viking Tours has won our hearts and we are planning on returning again next year to one of those fabulous river cruises they offer. Less

Cabin review: 237
Cabin was extremely well laid out. The bed was large and comfortable and there were plenty of drawers to store our clothes - and good closet space - and room to store our suitcases out of the way under the bed. The bathroom was small but adequate. It was grand to have a window to look out and see the shoreline as we passed by. We could see the view from our bed! It was also comforting to have a small safe in our room for valuables.
