Sail Date: Dec 2011

This was a marvelous introduction to river cruising. Prior to this trip, we had taken several land/bus cruises and one experience was better than the other. Italy, Ireland, England and Sicily. But returning from Sicily in May, 2011, what comes in an email but a terrific offer for a Christmas tour - on a river? We could not resist.

The accommodation, the food, the entertainment, the hospitality, the crew and the ports we visited could not have been better. We lucked out with the weather as Winter is always iffy but it only rained one day and not for very long.

Oh the sites we saw! Normandy, several medieval villages alongside the Seine and Versailles! How does one explain Versailles to anyone who has not seen it? Breathtaking.

Cabin Review

Cabin was extremely well laid out. The bed was large and comfortable and there were plenty of drawers to store our clothes - and good closet space - and room to store our suitcases out of the way under the bed. The bathroom was small but adequate. It was grand to have a window to look out and see the shoreline as we passed by. We could see the view from our bed! It was also comforting to have a small safe in our room for valuables.
