We have taking many cruises but this was out first with Carnival. We have always been somewhat reluctant due to book with Carnival due to the "Party Ship" reputation. We were pleasantly surprised, not at all what we expected, it is one of the cleanest, friendliest ships I have ever been on.
Embarkation was very quick and efficient, we were on the ship and on our way to the room by 1pm.
The ship is older but is well maintained. We had an aft balcony, which we loved. The cabin has a good layout, plenty of storage and a good sized bathroom. I can't say enough about the crew, they were very friendly and more than accommodating with any request.
The shows were pretty good, we really enjoyed the comedians, they were several different shows throughout the trip. Casino is small but has plenty of slots and tables, we are not big gamblers but every time we went we were able to find a spot without being overcrowded.
The pool areas were nice, not as crowded as other ships we've been on. There are buffets and serving stations by the pools so you can get lunch and drinks without leaving the area, very convenient.
The food on this trip was hit or miss. We had great meals in the dining room, no complains. The buffet was not great and for some reason was always lined up. Salads and cold food was OK, there were very few hot selections and what was there was not good. We ended up going to the deli for sandwiches most days, they were very excellent. Burgers and pizza are also available but were OK at best.
Disembarking was relatively easy, waited in the theatre and were off the ship within an hour.
We would definitely travel with Carnival again, everyone we talked with really enjoyed the cruise and previous cruises they had been on. By far the most friendly, laid back cruise vacation we've been on.
