We just returned from the Golden Princess. I will concentrate here on the main areas: dining, excursions, cabins, activities, and ship layout.

DINING: I want to meet the person who said that the food aboard this ship is like what you would get at Denny's. I want to know what Denny's and where - its worth a special trip. The food on the Golden was wonderful. I travel frequently on business and eat in very nice restaurants. I would put the food at that level. Is it Wolfgang Puck quality - probably not, but it is very good - interesting presentation, good food quality, nice variety of choices. Others have complained about the layout of the buffets -again, I think this is real nitpicking. We never encountered lines - at any time day or night. It was easy to find things and the service in the dining room was very efficient - there were never any dirty dishes laying around on tables. We did go to Sabattini's - very nice, food is delicious and there is a lot of it. Well worth the extra charge. The pizza on board is terrific and I am very fussy about my pizza!

Excursions: The highlight for us (group of four adults with one teenage boy) was a sailaway excursion to Nevis. It was beautiful and the luncheon served on the nearly deserted beach was terrific. This is one of the more expensive excursions, but worth the money. In St. Thomas, my son and brother did the golf excursion and commented that the course was not well kept. My aunt and I did the St. John snorkeling excursion and loved it. Trunk Bay has to be one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere!
