We traveled with our 11 year old daughter. Embarkation was delayed for some reason. We arrived at the port at 12:30, but did not get on board until about 2:30. We ate lunch in the MDR, and the service was bad. My daughter received the wrong meal after waiting for about 30 minutes. Our food was cold. This should have been our warning not to return! Our room was great, and our room steward, George, was awesome. We had late dining, and our waiters never introduced themselves. They never bothered to ask our names. The service was either really really slow, or completely rushed. The food was terrible, and usually arrived cold. Sometimes, the plates were cleared before we were finished. The service and really disappointing. We eventually gave up and ate on the Lido deck. The deli was great. And the sushi on deck 2 was outstanding. My daughter attended camp carnival, and loved it. There were lots of kids her age because it was spring break in the northeast. All of the other passengers were so friendly, and it seemed like everyone really enjoyed themselves. Carnival does drop the ball when it comes to leaving the ship on a tender. We had to wait for over an hour to get on the tender. The process was confusing. Some passengers did not get onto the private island until after noon. You should book an excursion just to get to get priority boarding on the tender. Debarkation was also confusing. When we sailed with Disney, their debarkation process was very organized and easy.
