Caribbean Paradise on the Constellation

Sail Date: April 2012
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

I am not going to detail all our every moves but to sum up how we felt and how we were treated aboard the Celebrity Constellation.

Embarkation - It was smooth and easy. Punch and water were provided while waiting, and champagne flue-ts awaited all as you board the grand old "Connie". Every member of the crew were all smiles and so very helpful.

Stateroom - clean clean clean. We had a concierge c3 veranda on deck 8. We had one some time ago on deck 9 and found the overhanging deck above to blot the sun. As Concierge class we had fresh flowers, fruit, and 4pm snacks every day in our room. The red rose in the bathroom was a nice touch. Steward and assistant were ever so friendly and meticulous with the attention to the room's condition.

Common areas - They were never overcrowded and the staff mingled with the passengers as did many of the ships officers. Unlike RCCL you could get as many towels pool side you wanted. Sherbets in the afternoon on sea days was a More nice touch at pool side. Of course, the ice cream is no charge. The staff managed to be very polite and cared for the the common areas very well.

Food - Of course the food was good but not as good as in the past. Don't get me wrong, even at average the Celebrity food is far better than Princess and RCCL. I was disappointed that escargot was not on the menu. The wait staff were what you would expect on a top notch cruise. Fantastic!

Disembarkation - This had a few glitches but it did go quickly.

To sum it all up, cruise Celebrity and cruise the best affordable luxury line in the world. Happy cruising. Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Constellation Concierge Class Vista Deck (7) 8148

Cabin 8148 was spacious and concierge class. Same size as Aqua but hundreds cheaper. Great amenities, flowers, bottle of champagne upon arrival.... Nice category and class. Stay off deck 9 if you want sunny and quiet areas. Deck nine can get a bit noisy on sea days.

Port and Shore Excursions

Did a the milk beach - had some local beverages, took some shade under the mango trees, and had a great time in the water. Cost to and from is 16$ pp by taxi. By the way we enjoyed the many hummingbirds in the mangros while sipping a pina colada

Good shopping, nice port but the beaches are very rocky and you stand the risk of cuts and bruises. We simply do some shopping and get our curacao liqueur

First time there - took a tour inland along some very bumpy roads - the island reminded us of Dominica. The crater lake is a small pond but the monkeys are a blast. Bought tons of vanilla and all the fresh spices.

OK beaches but been there and done that. If the first time we recommend the land sea all day sight seeing. Some beaches are very nice with the black sand an all.

Lovely beaches and we always opt for a cat beach day. Check out caramila.com

Mostly do shopping but when we want to beach we go to Sapphire on St T. or over to St Johns via a taxi to Red Hook. Or, eat and drink at Senor Frogs at dock side and use their swimming pool
