We were a group of six, having chosen this cruise because of the itinerary. Having read some of the reviews online our expectations of the cruise were really great low. Consequently we were pleasantly surprised and really did wonder what people were talking about with some of the negative reviews. We are not novice cruises and would easily rate Costa Atlantica up there with other cruises we have taken. The ship was very nice,clean,decor,nice although a bit on the gaudy side. Staff were attentive from the main lobby,to cabin steward( probably one of the best stewards we have had, efficient, attentive, pleasant), to the evening time wait staff in the dining room were top notch. We had signed on for late dining but found 9:00 a bit too late and had no difficulty switching to early dining( 6:15, found that a bit too early, time now Costa for open dining!!)Our itinerary did not disappoint, enjoyed some wonderful beach stops. Did two excursions from the ship, very pleased with those.Entertainment was excellent, their singers and dancers were very professional. Best price yet on any of the cruises for internet connection, 1 hour, $10.00.

What we did find unusual, not really considered negative but different from other cruises, a surcharge for room service at breakfast between the hours of 5:00am and 11:00 am with no surcharge after that time.Breakfast in the dining room included, menu service as well as a buffet. Service at breakfast could be improved upon. Food selection in dining room at lunch was limited but not so in the evening. Food quality was good to very good.I guess every cruise has one or two things that you might not like. Given the recent difficulties on Costa we did have to take part in two Safety demonstrations while on a ten day cruise. At least we felt it had something to do with those difficulties. We have certainly been on cruises before over 7 days and only ever had to do one safety demonstration. Given these incidents we felt this to be quite appropriate!!Would certainly do a Costa cruise again!!
