Great Trip

Sail Date: April 2012
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Tampa

We boarded the Carnival Legend in Tampa on April 15 for a seven day western caribbean cruise. Check in/boarding went great. We left port and spent the next full day at sea.
We booked all our excursions through Carnival.

Our first port of call was Cozumel Mexico. We booked the "Amazing Cozumel Race" excursion. We got to see a lot of the city of Cozumel during this and interacted with many of the locals. It was a wonderful experience. We teamed up with another couple and enjoyed their company also. The guides were great people, friendly and helpful. Would go back in a heart beat.

Our second port was Belize. Before boarding we'd planned on winging Belize because the excursion I'd wanted, "Altun Ha Mayan Site & River Wallace" was fully booked online.. However, you can book excursions through your TV onboard ship and when we checked they had availability so we booked it. The tickets were waiting the next morning for us. We got picked up by bus and went to the Altun More Ha ruins, very interesting. Our guide, Ken, from Bak-a-Bush tours was awesome, very knowledgeable and fervently proud of his country. After looking at the ruins we took the bus to a resort and boarded a power boat and headed down the river in search of wildlife. We saw crocodiles, monkeys, birds and iguanas. Would go back at double the price.

Our third was Roatan Honduras. We did Maya Key Private Island Retreat with Lunch. Must be honest, we didn't care much for it. There was a lot of garbage in the water at the beach. The animals were cool, there were sea turtles, sea lions, sharks and rays that you can swim and interact with for a fee. Wouldn't go back for free.

Our final port was Grand Cayman. We had booked the Tour/car museum but wound up on the Best of Cayman tour. It was fun, you got to see a turtle farm and much of the west side of the island, visit Hell and that truthfully was the highlight. Wouldn't waste my time again.

We had another day at sea and had rain/storms most of the trip back to Tampa.

Overall, wonderful. Great food, shows and comedians. The staff was great, always willing to help, going above and beyond to make you happy. Will cruise with Carnival again. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Legend Oceanview Riviera

Our cabin was great. It had a window, it was near an elevator lobby and tender exit. Noise wasn't an issue. All was well.
