RADIANCE OF THE SEAS HAS THE WOW FACTOR
Destination: South Pacific
Embarkation: Sydney (Australia)
This was my 7Th cruise and my husbands 4Th but our 1st with RCI
We sailed from Sydney on the beautiful Radiance of the Seas
Embarkation was fine, we boarded fairly quickly and effortlessly considering how many people were boarding.
Once on board we quickly found our stateroom, which was a nice surprise as it was a good size we picked an Ocean View no balcony on deck 8 at the front of the ship. It was very clean and tidy and our steward kept it nice and clean for us the whole cruise.
We could not wait to explore this beautiful ship and we were not disappointed.
The atrium was very impressive and the glass elevators facing the ocean were something special. The theatre was also very nice as was the main dining restaurant. The pool areas were great as well.
We did not find anything to dislike about Radiance.
This ship has the WOW factor.
Sailing out of Sydney is so much fun, up on the top deck on a lovely sunny
afternoon which More we were lucky enough to have.
We love cruising and as this was our 1st cruise without our family we opted for any time dining and we appreciated the convenience of it as we could pick
what time suited us for dining. We also met some lovely fellow cruisers during dining.
The food in the dining room was excellent with something for everyone.
We chose to eat there most nights, but we also enjoyed the buffet at Windjammers both in the evening and at breakfast and lunch times.
There again was plenty of choices for both adults and children and beverages were readily available.
We also enjoyed the BBQ's on deck on a couple of occasions not to mention the
lovely salad bar at Park Cafe and the yummy roast sandwiches/rolls
We love the entertainment whilst cruising and we again were not disappointed.
The ships dancers and singers gave great performances. The guest performers were great particularly the hypnotist. We really enjoyed his shows.
We love bingo, trivia and the quest was fun.
We also found that compared to our cruises on the Sea and Sun Princes
we did not feel the motion of the ocean quite so much probably because
Radiance is a bigger ship.
We had been to 6 out of the 7 ports before, but we enjoyed our days there.
Its great to wake up to a different view every day.
We love Mystery Island, Isle of Pines and Champagne Bay so very lovely to visit. Calming and relaxing.
The ships crew did a really good job with the tendering ports it seemed well
The ships captain was great and kept us all informed about possible bad weather and a change of port schedule.
Arriving home - somewhat sad disembarkation was well organized.
We were of the ship by 9.15am and in the car soon after.
We have previously sailed with Princess and P&O and we have enjoyed our Princess cruises but I think we enjoyed this one just a little bit more.
We have booked to go on the Voyager of the Seas in January 2013 with our daughter we cannot wait to see her face. We have also booked for
Rhapsody of the Seas in March 2013.
If your thinking of a cruise we highly recommend Radiance of the Seas
RCI well done and thanks for a great happy and safe cruise. Less
