Great family cruise, great for without kids too!
Destination: Canary Islands
The boarding process for such a large ship couldn't have been any easier. The knocks given the ship in a few reviews speak volumes about those who leave them and little to do with the reality we found on this wonderful ship.
The Windjammer food was of great quality with many fresh fruit selections, a continuous variety of comfort food, fast food and various ethnic dishes. The staff were quick to clear and clean a table of those who had departed.
The main dining room experience was second to none. Each night we had delicious meals and a variety of healthy alternatives as well. The salmon and lamb dishes were terrific. The vegetable lasagna was tasty and each night there were offerings of hot and chilled soups that were properly prepared.
For snacks and light offerings of sandwiches, the two spots on the Promenade were great, even the room service was not only punctual but good food.
Our stateroom attendant Marco was jovial and did a good job. Our waiter Luis and More assistant waiter Ramon were the consummate staffers committed to good service and friendly treatment.
The shows were fun and professional, we enjoyed the juggler comedian Pete Matthews and the singer.
The size of the ship was amazing considering how many children were on board, but they all seem very well supervised and had a great array of activities to keep them busy. This is the ship a family should take a trip on.
The excursions were of good value, especially the trip from La Coruna to Campisto Santiago to see the Cathedral where St. James is buried.
We were lucky enough to walk into Tenerife right at the time that a Good Friday procession complete with music was marching through the streets in memory of the Stations of the Cross.
We enjoyed having Mass on the ship on both Palm Sunday and Easter with Father Tim. Those who find fault with this ship should skip the next sailing and leave the seas happy for the rest of us. Less
