2nd time on the Oasis!

Sail Date: April 2012
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We just finished our second cruise on the Oasis and loved it just as much this time as the last time! It was nice going a second time because we knew the ship this go around and had all of our favorite places figured out! We stayed in Ft. Lauderdale the night before our cruise and ate at a restaurant called The Rustic Inn and had great crab and shrimp for dinner. It is a very casual place and we enjoyed the food a great deal!

Once again we had no trouble getting our sea passes. We were in and out of that area within 15 minutes and off we went to get on the ship! This area is very well organized! We were able to get on the ship around 11:30 and were told our rooms would be ready about 1:00 which they were. Our luggage arrived shortly before our dinner reservation which was at 5:45. If it doesn't arrive before dinner don't worry. They are pretty understanding of what people are wearing knowing they might not have gotten their luggage yet. Just don't plan to wear a bathing suit in More the dining room!

We had great food and service no matter where we ate! We did eat at Giovannis and Johnny Rockets for lunch on two of the days and ate at the Park Cafe the other days for the famous roast beef sandwich! We ate at Chops Grille for dinner one night and the Opus dining room the remaining nights. We did the My Time Dining as that worked out best for our schedule with the excursions and shows we had reserved.

Speaking of which~ Book everything you want to do before you get on the ship! Book all of your shows and dining (Opus Dining or specialty restaurants) or you won't be able to get into them! You also have to be at the show you have reserved 15 minutes ahead of the starting time or they will give your reservation away. There were always long lines of people waiting to get in that didn't have a reservation! We enjoyed all of the shows! We booked every one of them and didn't leave disappointed! The comedians they had a board were hilarious and the Headliner was great too!The only complaint that we have is there isn't another itinerary for the Oasis now that we have done the Western and Eastern trips! Would love to see this ship do the Southern Caribbean! Less

Cabin review: Oasis of the Seas Oceanview Stateroom Deck 3 12620

Our cabin was located in a quiet area (no one across from us, not near the elevators or stairs). We felt the room was of adequate size! You can store your luggage under the bed so that makes for more room. We liked this deck area because it was close enough to the pool deck to use the stairs if you'd like and with the elevators it is easy to access the other neighborhoods down below.

Port and Shore Excursions

Atlantis

(5)
This excursion was guided and took you through the main sections of the resort and the aquariums. We really enjoyed it!

We took a guided tour of the island. We went to both sides of the island- the Dutch side and the French side. Be careful when booking your excursions as some only visit one side. It was our first time on the island so we wanted to experience both sides. Be cautious of drinking bottled water not from the U.S.!

Island Tour

We took the island tour in an open air vehicle. We had a great tour guide and enjoyed the island!
