Family Spring Break on Eclipse

Sail Date: April 2012
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

This was our first cruise. We joined my parents who had cruised with Celebrity before. We had a great time. Embarkation was smooth and quick. By the time we boarded, our rooms were ready so we were able to drop off our carry ons. We had a sky suite with a connecting concierge room (for the grandparents). The suite was very nice with a great balcony that provided both an aft and starboard view.

After checking out the rooms we headed up to the oceanview cafe for lunch. The place was busy but it was easy to find a table with a view and grab a nice bite to eat (this was consistent throughout the cruise). We also got started on our premium drink package. Since this was our first cruise we learned a lot by mistake like...you can only order one drink per seapass with the package. There were lots of mistakes in the first day but by day 2 we were pretty comfortable. Throughout the cruise, the staff were terrific especially those in the various cafes, restaurants and More lounges.

Some key highlights of our cruise included:

-The great service from our MDR servers and sommelier--thanks Harun, Baretto and Denis
-The great service and attention to detail from our room attendants--thanks Salvador and Bharoot
-The great staff and cocktails at the Molecular Bar--thanks Magda and Milos
-The great staff and coffees at Caffe al Bacio
-The great staff and programs at the Fun Factory for our 4 yr old
-The terrific in room babysitters--thanks Sheila and Melanie
-Butler and tea service in the afternoons--thanks Nelson
-Drinks at the sunset bar while watching our daughter run on the lawn

Some not so great things:

-The hit or miss service at the pool
-The crowds at the pool on sea days
-The waves and motion on our first couple of days out at sea

Overall, we had a great time and the service and amenities on the Eclipse are fantastic. We look forward to enjoying them again in the future and would recommend them to anyone. Less
