After being on RCL 3X, Princess, Carnival and Costa my wife said; "I think we have found our Cruise Line."
We took a cab from the San Juan Airport to the ship got in quick moving line to get our luggage then checked in and were in our state room in no time.(Was even able to purchase wine at the ship port to bring on board. Each passenger can bring one bottle of wine aboard.)
First evening we wanted to start our holiday with an exceptional mean and we dined at Normandie. Excellent menu with plenty of choice and exceptional service - well worth the price and if you dine on the first evening there is a discount. The rest of the cruise we dined in the main dining room with three other wonderful couples at the late seating. We had so much fun at our table, we never did dine at Qsine as we hoped to. The service and food was great in the MDR. On the left side of the menu available every night were menu choices for the less adventurous and on the right side different choices More
every night. Daily the menu for the MDR was up early so you could make decisions if you wanted reservations elsewhere on the two speciality restaurants.
Daily, we would enjoyed coffee and OJ on our balcony. A perfect solution for early raisers, then when the rest of the world was moving we headed to the MDR seating with other passengers to enjoy a leisurely breakfast.
Entertainment with Alejandro was good with the Summit orchestra and dancers. The "house" entertainment was a step up from other cruise venues we have experienced but still house shows. Special guest entertainers were very good. The ventriloquist and singer brought onboard were wonderful. The shows we went to were sparsely attended. In the Rendez Vous Lounge they had great bands and also a accapella group the Up till 2 were also very entertaining.
Shore excursions from Summit looked to be of good value. Swam with turtles in Barbados and Rays in Antigua. All staff on board were friendly and very helpful. We took the tour of San Juan and got dropped off at the airport for not much more than a cab ride to the airport. Can't wait to sail with Celebrity again. Less
