Freestyle or no Style
Just returned from canaries cruise on the jade, On boarding went to our mini suite, a bit tired but very comfortable.
Did a tour of ship never seen such ghastly decor or clashing colours, some areas need refurbing badly, Le Bistro very dull and smelt very stale, Eat here on first night, Paid cover charge $25 0r $30, only to find some dishes carried a supplement, meal was okay.
Ship very crowded pool deck on sea days like a holiday camp from the 1970s, lot of trouble getting a sunbed or even a chair.
Food on ship mostly very good, but was ill after eating some fish tried to deal with this myself went to doctors after 5 days of feeling less than great went to medical centre explained was told i would still have to pay $100 plus $50 for medication, spoke to cruise director met with food and beverage, very indifferent told no one else was ill, well lucky them.
I am sure a one time this was a lovely ship, but now apart from the Grand pacific dinning room, every bit More of style and taste had been thrown overboard, This ship use to be in the Hawaiian islands, some areas were no better than a cross channel ferry.
Service very good and friendly.
What a shame this cruise seemed to be a poor standard offering just the basics whilst trying to extract a lot of money from you at every opportunity. I did a cruise on the Norwegian crown many years ago its was excellent.
Could someone remind me if this was a 3 or 4 star ship!! Less
