Traveled with children

We are huge Disney fans with two children 7 and 9 yo. We have passes to all 4 Disney parks and spend a lot of time doing all things Disney. We planned to take this cruise for 13 months with my parents and compared to most it is very expensive. We booked the least expensive inside cabin which was a decent size and it was clean and comfortable. My parents booked a balcony which was huge and the view was awesome. If you can get a balcony.

Our cabin steward did a fine job of keeping it clean as much as possible, but to be honest we were only in it to sleep and shower. There are 3 fresh water pools 1 children's Mickey pool with a slide and a splash pad, a family pool and an adults only area with a pool and 2 hot tubs. The adult area also has nicer chairs and the staff do a great job keeping the kids out of this area. There is not a lot of deck space around the pools with chairs so its hard to lounge by the pools. There is a giant movie screen above the pool which plays Disney cartoons all day. The characters are not always around and accessible they make scheduled appearances which get crazy and crowded. I thought this was odd. They do have a character breakfast which several of the characters come to each table for photos!! Don't miss this we enjoyed this very much. The wait staff make costumes for you out of napkins pots and pans. Its pretty cool and a lot of fun!

The food was decent in the dining room but I preferred Pluto's Dog House and Goofy's Galley which are located next to the pool, great fast food spot for hot dogs, the best tacos, paninis. Soda is included for free so we took advantage of that. There is not an evening buffet which I did not like so if you did not like the main dining room food you were kind of out of luck. They also don't have alternative meals on the menu to choose from. My wife loved the dining room food I just thought it was OK. Our first night in the dining room was in Parrot Cay which you alternate to 2 other dining rooms every night with your wait staff. Our fist night was a disaster. Our waiter never introduced himself and was very disorganized. The food portions for our kids were very small like for a toddler, and our steaks were inedible. The absolute worst dining service I have had in 19 cruises. We spoke to the head waiter Jose who was awesome. He provided a new buss er and waiter. Tyrone and Jackson and they were absolutely terrific. Tyrone did magic tricks for the kids and was just a great guy, what we would have expected from Disney. Animators Palate and Lumiere's were amazing don't miss the show in Animators Palate. The buffet area was crowded and small, we chose to eat at Parrot Cay for breakfast which was excellent.
