We arrived at the pier around 1:30 and boarded about an hour later; the most exciting moment for me was walking up the gangway to enter the ship. This was our second cruise and it seems that this is what going to heaven must be like!

After exploring the ship and our stateroom we went up to the pool deck to see New York as we sailed away. It was exciting beyond compare, but it was February 27 and after a while the cold became unbearable. We warmed up with our send off meal in the Garden Cafe and then set about fully exploring the ship. Our first cruise was on the Empress of the Seas to Bermuda in July, 2003-also a great experience-but the Norwegian Dawn was much better.

Of course it is new and much larger, but the food was excellent and the stateroom spacious. We ate at Impressions, Aqua, Le Bistro, Venetian, La Trattoria and the Garden Cafe and always found the food of excellent quality. The staff was great and we always received first-class treatment-always a smile.
